Dang a tribal area in Gujrat has 65% literacy, where people strive for their livelihood, as unemployment and poverty is high due to a lack of education, training and vocational skills.
Mr G.A.Amreliwala had a vision to provide education and vocational training to the children of Dang and make them self supporting.
The Beginning
In 1996, his dream took shape. A hostel for boys and girls was started in a rented house with 9 children in Bhisya villlage Dang district. This was the first step with a humble beginning under the name of "G A Amreliwala Education and Medical Charitable Trust".
Progress
By 2004, the hostel had 45 children, 22 boys and 23 girls, still in a rented but a bigger house.
In early 2005 with the help of family, friends and well wishers construction of a hostel was started. The hostel would house 60+ children on a plot of land in Bhisya village.
In 2006-07 one more building was added on the same plot increasing the capacity from 60 to 100+ children.
